I used to practice law. I quit, after realizing that the system was apparently so corrupt that I couldn't cope with it. I'm a basically honest person, who believes in the rule of law, personal responsibility, etc.; and that's not the system I found I had to deal with.

Nevertheless, the powers that be, corrupt as they may be, still have to present an image of innocence; and this can be used to your advantage. I hope that, by now, you have found honorable counsel. As for the vermin who victimized you, I would fry him -- make him destitute and homeless. He deserves the Wrath of God.
