I live in a state neighboring Missouri, and I'm now afraid to travel there. In fact, I am afraid to travel to many states in the country, now. It's not so much about what the law says, as it is about the public mood -- its attitudes toward trans people; because, as we all know, the law is only the tip of the iceberg, and many things happen to disfavored populations beyond what the law prescribes.
