I think the comparison to the Jews under Hitler is apt. I've been excoriated more than once for making the comparison; but I don't think many people appreciate how apt it is.

I have repeatedly tried to warn people of what's coming, but they remain married to outdated memes and methods. Cognitive dissonance? Fear of the unknown?

There are places where political action works, places where it doesn't (or shortly won't) and places where it works sometimes and not others. I think perhaps people don't want to admit that the political path has become irrelevant in some cases, because they don't know any alternative and that scares them to death.

I've held this view for awhile now; nevertheless the speed with which things are trending southward for trans people has shocked me. A Florida State legislator recently dismissed trans deaths by saying that transitioning kills the individual anyway. It's not that his statement is incorrect that is astonishing; it's the fact that he holds our lives as worthless.

Tell me how this isn't like being a Jew under Hitler.
