Lack of a coherent definition for "gender theory" or "gender ideology," as those terms are used by the reactionary Right, has irked me for some time.

I infer that it means whatever makes the user uncomfortable -- generally anything other than traditional notions. What's scary is that they don't feel the need to define it.

The Right is motivated on this issue by hysteria, and you can't reason with people for whom reason isn't the basis of their position in the first place. But, to be fair, there is no lack of hysteria on the Left, as well.
