She is the Hindu goddess, Tripura Sundari, known more familiarly as Lalita.

I don't mean to suggest that She asks this of everyone! 😊In fact, I think some Hindus would be scandalized by the idea. (I'm not Hindu, myself.) I've only seen the idea mentioned on a public board once, that I can recall, and the person commenting called it disrespectful; so I'm guessing that's the predominating view.

I kind of think this is something directed at me, for reasons that are specific to me. I have worshipped the Goddess under three different names in my life, and it was under the previous relationship that this first became a mandatory thing. I'm pretty sure it's tied to a specific change in my relationship with Her. I was first told to do this when I accepted Her offer to take the priestess path.
