So, are we being given a choice, to be enslaved by fascists on the Left or be enslaved by fascists on the Right? 😊

I fear it may sound trite to the ears of many, but the real problem in America today is spiritual; and that's not to promote any particular religion. I wonder how many people today grasp the reality behind John Adams' words:

"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

The capacity for self-governance rests upon a metarational moral foundation. It's as though we were all in a moral boat, floating atop a sea of chaos; and, so long as the boat's integrity holds, we will stay afloat. But, as can be plainly seen, that integrity has been severely compromised.

This compromise, in my opinion, is by design. I guess that makes me a Conspiracy Theorist™️; but it's a difficult conclusion to avoid, since the conspirators have made no secret as to their aims and devices.

The way out? The moral majority (small m's) will have to rise up, if there still is one; and, this late in the game, it is difficult to imagine a non-violent path, at least on one side.
