Thank you for this.
It has come to my attention that sex and spirit are inextricably intertwined – that they are two sides of the same coin, so to speak. There is no such thing, in other words, as a “merely carnal” sexual event. When it is done in the right spirit, it opens the door to spiritual good; and, when done in the wrong spirit, it opens the door to spiritual evil (I’ve actually seen that happen).
I think whether prostitution is sacred or not depends on the motivation of the prostitute; and I have long thought that a prostitute can sacralize her work by giving it positive spiritual intent, regardless of the motivation of the john. This is because the john is, although broken and bleeding, a manifestation of the God; and the prostitute, if she will embrace herself as manifestation of the Goddess, can thereby become a conduit of divine healing.
Wouldn’t this be a marvelous approach to sex work?
