There is an article on Zero Hedge today citing Pepe Escobar for the idea that the West is hell-bent on provoking Russia into a hot war; see: https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/escobar-west-hell-bent-provoking-russia-hot-war

I don't do politics, as a vocation or avocation; but simply by keeping abreast of current events I had already come to the same conclusion. My reaction upon reading this article was one of great relief, because someone with a platform was seeing the same thing I'm seeing.

It's difficult for the average American to know how to respond to this madness, since we have no voice in our own government. The one feasible course that I know of is that used by Gandhi: non-violent non-cooperation on a mass scale. Find those means required for the powers that be to wage their war and convince those upon whom they rely to simply not cooperate, come what may.

I have no illusions about the response; the sort of treatment meted out to the Jan 6 defendants would be a minimum: ruthless reprisal and no due process. But it could stop the war.

It would be very helpful if, once the war begins in earnest, either by declaration or by deed, various States chose that moment to secede. That would put an immediate halt to the war, until such time as the powers that be were able to stamp out the secession. This would give their enemies time to prepare for the renewal of aggression, however, and would doubtless save millions of lives. It would be worth the personal sacrifice of those who make it happen; don't you think?
