You know, the trans activists have encouraged us all to think in terms of rights; but let me suggest another point of view.

None of us can prove that we're "really" women. We believe that we are; but expecting other people to agree with us is like expecting other people to agree with other beliefs -- like Christianity, Islam, or the moon landing. If people don't want to believe we are women, then they won't; it's that simple -- and most of them have no reason to do so.

And trying to cram it down their throats won't help us. It will only hurt us.

I know I'm female. I know it. But I really don't expect other people to believe it; why should they? So, as long as they leave me alone, to live out my vision, I'll try to not make an issue of it. Really, what other option is there? We're like blind people expecting sighted people to understand what it's like to be us. They never will.

If I were to get into an argument with someone who claimed I wasn't a woman, there are many different approaches I might take; but, in the end, they all reduce to this: I see myself as a woman, but how you see me is up to you. Just let me be, to pursue my own vision, my own happiness, as best I can.
